Description
Charge, Demolition Sheet Roll 76 ft (1375-01-038-6885 M994) is a roll of flexible explosive, olive drab in color, measuring 76 feet long by 10 inches wide by .043 inches thick. The weight of the explosive will measure 7 ounces per 20 inch lengths. The exact explosive contained in this charge may vary from PETN to RDX to other qualifying explosives. The flexible explosive used on Charge, Demolition Sheet Roll is a Qualified Products List (QPL) item. QPL-46676-13 contains a listing of contractors qu alified to provide explosive rolls for the military. Contractors listed on the QPL are: Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Co., Royal Ordnance PLC, and Hitech, Inc. Specification MIL-E-46676 contains complete requirements for testing and qualifying fle xible explosive for the QPL (Ref: Automated Data List (ADL) 10001-2114203) and is available upon request. All qualification expenses are the responsibility of the potential offeror. FEDBIZOPPS NOTE 23 APPLIES TO THIS ITEM: Award will be made only if the offeror, the product/service or the manufacturer meets qualification requirement at time of award, in accordance with FAR clause 52.209-1 or 52.209-2. The solicitation identifies the office where additional information can be obtained concerning qualificat ion requirements and is cited in each individual solicitation. The flexible explosive demolition rolls are used in general demolition as a cutting or breaching charge. The flexible explosive used in explosive rolls is completely waterproof so it can be used in underwater demolition without the addition of protective c oatings. Interested companies should respond by providing the government the following information: a brief summary of the company's capabilities (a description of facilities, Business size information as it applies to NAICS code 325920 (750 employees), personnel, and past manufacturing experience as it relates to the above criteria) and availability, i.e., estimated minimum and maximum monthly production quantities. A respondent to this survey should be able to show adequate technical and manufacturing capability a nd good past performance in the explosives processing industry. A respondent to this market survey must have available a majority of the skills and facilities that are required to manufacture these items. If a respondent does not have adequate resources (t echnical, manufacturing, personnel, etc.) available, the respondent must be able to demonstrate his ability to obtain those resources in a timely fashion. If a respondent chooses to utilize the services of subtier vendors or subcontractors, those vendors o r subcontractors must also meet these criteria. All contractors interested in this future solicitation must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration Database. Information shall be submitted within 30 calendar days from the date of this publica tion to: US Army Field Support Command, ATTN: AMSFS-CCM-A, Carl McDonald, 1 Rock Island, Rock Island, IL 61299-6000, email: McDonaldC@osc.army.mil. This is a market survey for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal or a s an obligation on the part of the government. The government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market survey or otherwise pay for information solicited. The government will utilize the information provided only to develop the acquis ition strategy for future requirements. All information submitted will be held in a confidential status.
