- Description
- AMENDMENT 0001 TO REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS N00421-04-T-0189 The purpose of this amendment (0001) is to answers questions received from potential offerors. The hour and date for submission of quotations is NOT changed and remains 3:00p.m. (EDT) on 6 August 2004. NOTE TO OFFERORS: You must acknowledge receipt of this amendment prior to the hour and date specified for receipt of offers by either signing and returning one copy of the amendment (separate from your offer, but prior to the hour and date for receipt of offers) or by signing and returning one copy of the amendment with your offer. If you have already submitted a quote, you may change your quote in response to this amendment and include acknowledgement of the amendment in one of the forms noted, provided the changed quote makes reference to this amendment and is received prior to the hour and date for receipt of offers. QUESTION 1: (Paraphrased) In the reference of Solicitation No. N00421-04-T-0189, would you please provide us more specific information about the elements. ANSWER 1: Generally, wattmeters require plug-in elements to determine the power rating and frequency range. Therefore, depending on the product offered, plug-in elements may be necessary to meet the Government?s minimum Frequency Range (L-Band 1-2 Ghz) and Power Rating (100mW to 10W). Thus, offerors shall quote quantities and pricing for the elements. For example, this Request for Quotation cites a specific product from a manufacturer/supplier. This product requires SIX (6) each 25K plug-in elements (L-Band) AND SIX (6) each 2.5K plug-in elements (L-Band) to meet the Government?s minimum specifications. (That is, each of the three wattmeters to be procured requires two of each of the two plug-in elements identified for a total of six each.) Another offeror?s product may require different elements and quantities to meet the Government?s minimum specifications (stated above), and that offeror should quote the type and quantities, as well as price, for its elements. Based on this response, the Government anticipates quotes that cite a line item for the wattmeters (3 each) and a line item for plug-in elements (the quoter will cite the quantities based on their product). It is noted that more than one additional line item may be required for plug-in elements (as in the example, one for 25K elements and one for 2.5K elements). Offerors are encouraged to provide product literature that shows how their products meet the Government?s minimum specifications as set forth in the solicitation. Such literature may be in the form of pamphlets or brochures, or a web site that sets forth enough detailed information for a determination to be made that the product meets the specifications. Elaborate or excessive literature is not intended nor desired. --End of Amendment 0001-- All other terms of the original combined synopsis/solicitation posted on 27 July 2004 apply.
