- The American Forces Radio and Television Service (AFRTS) Pentagon Channel intends to award a contract for the acquisition of the following specialized skills in support of the Pentagon Channel: Master Control Room Lead Technical Operator, Master Control Room Technical Operator, Newscast Director, Assistant Traffic Manager, On-Air Creative Services Producer, On-Air Creative Services Graphic Artist, On-Air Creative Services Video Editor, Production Assistant, Videographer, Customer Service/Administrative, Field Producer, Media Manager/Quality Control, Producer Special Projects and Events, and Technical Director. The contract will be awarded for an initial base period with three one-year option periods. The Pentagon Channel broadcasts military news and information 24 hours-a-day, seven days a week to military and family members around the world and in the United States. It also provides news and information to Guard and Reserve members and their families. The Pentagon Channel provides timely and in-depth programming, highlighting the tremendous work being done by service members throughout the world. The Pentagon Channel also provides Department of Defense news briefings from the Pentagon and remote sites, interviews with top Defense officials and coverage of live DoD events across the country and around the world. The Pentagon Channel is expanding its access to all U.S.-based installations, and subsequently, to local cable providers throughout the country. Most activities will occur at the Pentagon Channel?s Alexandria facility, but could also take place at the Pentagon or other locations in the National Capital Region or across the United States. The successful offeror will use the Pentagon Channel facilities and equipment in conjunction with military and civilian Government staff to produce program material. The contractor selected must maintain operational activities within two hours of the Washington, D.C. area. The anticipated date of issuance of the Request for Proposals (RFP) is on or about 18 August 2004 with proposals due on or about 22 September 2004. The anticipated date for the pre-proposal conference, located in Alexandria VA, is on or about 1 September 2004. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 541990 and the size standard is $6,000,000. Interested small businesses who are certified and qualified as a small business concern in NAICS 541990 are encouraged to respond. To be eligible for an award resulting from this solicitation, the Contractor must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database.
