- Description
- The Coast Guard intends to issue an Invitation for Bids for the construction of an addition to an existing office building. The office building is located on government-owned property at the U.S. Coast Guard Activities San Diego in San Diego, California. The scope of work includes partial structural upgrading of the foundation and lateral bracing of the first and second floors. Approximately two thousand seven hundred square feet of improvements will extend the second floor over the existing first floor roof area. Structural support is steel columns, beams, and bracing. Interior and exterior walls are framed with metal studs. Exterior surfaces are stucco, clay tile, and membrane roofing. Interior finishes are gypsum wallboard with some areas sound rated. Interior finishes include acoustical tile, paint, acoustical fabric, ceramic tile, and access flooring. Mechanical work includes HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection. Electrical work includes lighting, power, fire alarm, telephone, and CCTV. Site work is limited. The 24-hour operational functions currently housed in the building must be minimally impacted by this construction. Planned utility outages will be minimized and unplanned outages prohibited. Contract duration is 210 days. The Government Estimate range is $500,000 to $1,000,000. A firm fixed price contract will be awarded to the conforming, responsive, responsible bidder offering the lowest amount. This procurement is restricted to small business.
