- Contractor to furnish all labor, supervision, equipment, supplies, materials, other incidentals, and work to include but is not limited to: Conducting a thorough ethnographic inventory and assessment of places of Navajo traditional religious and cultural importance in certain areas of the Farmington Field Office that are historically active with energy development and are likely to remain active for years to come. The survey will involve archival research as well as field interviews, consultations, and field visits with knowledgeable leaders, elders and other tribal members to identify ceremonial areas, place names, important historical sites, resource collecting areas, lookouts, trail shrines, markers, burials, and other places and information pertaining to the overall spiritual and cultural environment of the Navajo people. These efforts will require communication in the Navajo language between researchers and individuals familiar with Navajo culture and oral and ceremonial histories. A detailed description of each place in both written form and graphic representations will be provided to the BLM at the completion of the survey. The inventory will be supported with both (maps), ArcGIS shape files, and photographs. Location: Work under this Contract is located in Farmington Field Office and surrounding areas as provided by the BLM. The Project is estimated between $25,000 and $100,000. This is a 100% small business set-aside. A total performance period of 300 calendar days has been established, with actual damages assessed for a delayed performance period. With an estimated start date on or about September 20, 2004. Solicitation to be issued 13 August, 2004. There will be only one site conference for this project.
