Description
The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is planning to relocate the Navy Floating Dry Dock AFDM 10 RESOLUTE from Naval Station Norfolk, Norfolk, VA to the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton, WA and has received approval from the Secretary of the Navy to lease the dry dock with a geographic performance restriction for the Puget Sound (Navy Homeport) area. NAVSEA will issue a competitive solicitation to lease the Dry Dock to a prospective U.S. owned, operated and licensed firm, engaged in shipbuilding, ship repair, and/or ship overhaul work which will operate the dry dock within the Puget Sound (Navy Homeport) area. Prospective lessee's (offerors) must present acceptable plans and milestones which will demonstrate their ability to acquire an acceptable operating basin that can be reached safely by Navy Ships, acquire Navy Certification of the dry dock and become certified as a Master Ship Repair Agreement holder within 180 days of lease award and properly maintain ! the dry dock. Firms interested in making arrangements to inspect the RESOLUTE at Naval Station, Norfolk between 23 August 2004 and 03 September 2004 should contact the RESOLUTE's CO, LCDR Greg Eckert at voice phone: 757-445-1360, cell 757-544-2423 or CO@Resolute.navy.mil by 19 August 2004. Telephone requests must be confirmed in writing by fax (757) 445-1362 or mailed to LCDR Greg Eckert, Commanding Officer, RESOLUTE (AFDM 10), 1990 "A" Ave., Norfolk, VA 23511 and must include the company name, name and citizenship of any individual(s) making the visit. A minimum of 48 hours notification is required. The solicitation closing date will be provided in the upcoming solicitation N00024-04-R-4420 planned for release Thursday, 19 August 2004. Paper copies of the forthcoming amendment or of previous solicitation documents will not be issued. All solicitation documents are or will be posted on the Internet at the Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) located at www.neco.navy.! mil and the Federal Business Opportunities (FEDBISOPS) located at www.fbo.gov, find business opportunities and then entering the proposed solicitation number N00024-04-R-4420.
