- The purpose of this modification is to change the set-aside from 8a Competitive to Total Small Business. Except as changed all other terms and conditions remain unchanged. This project requires road maintenance/road renovation on FSR 12, Palo Heuco Road and FSR 9915 Bisley Road, located on FS Rd 12 off Hwy 186, KM 17.8 and on FS Rd 9915 off Hwy 988, within the Caribbean National Forest. The basic road width for the reconstruction of this road is 12 feet (3.66m). Additional width required for curve widening, slough widening, or turnouts will be added as they exist on the ground. Roadside mowing/clearing is to be performed on the total length of the project. Growth shall be cut as close to the ground as practical, normally not to exceed 6 inches high. Mow road to ditch line or 2 feet (0.62m) beyond edge of road, whichever is greatest. This includes clearing around signs and appurtenances with damaging them. No aggregate will be spread on the road until roadbed is approved by the engineer. All culverts shall be cleaned to drain. Keep roads closed at all times. Excess and unsuitable excavated material shall be disposed of outside Government land at locations approved by landowners. The contractor must provide all equipment, labor, materials, tools and other incidentals necessary to perform required work. The contractor is responsible for determining the best method and manner to accomplish this work in accordance with the specifications. This is a firm-fixed price contract. The performance period is 45 calendar days. NAICS code is 237310 with a size standard of $28.5 million. All vendors are required to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) prior to award of a Federal contract. The preferred method for completing registration is via the World Wide Web at http://www.ccr.gov/. A handbook and other information are available at the site, including information on how to obtain a DUNS number, which is required to begin the registration process. Solicitation package will be posted and available to download on http://fedbizopps.gov at the approximate date of August 20, 2004.
