Description
The Food and Drug Administration intends to award a non-competitive, sole source purchase order to Hunter College. Hunter College participated in the development of this project and continues to be involved with the work related to the development of a nanobiosensor for detecting adventitious agents in vaccines. The major work elements to be conducted at Hunter College include the following: 1. Optimize conductivity measurements through peptide nanotubes bound to viral targets using atomic force microscopy and other methods. 2. Sequential fabrication of a prototype nanochip device: Manufacture gold patterned substrates specifically stamped at unique positions on larger polymer chips, coat gold substrates with appropriate antibodies, then attach antibody-coated nanotubes across the chip so as to be aligned with the stamped gold substrates, and configure the nanochip along an electronic circuit. 3. Make conductivity measurements to determine detection of targets, ascertain proof of principle, and establish sensitivity and specificity of the device. This is not a formal request for quotes. However, evaluation of other offers and any award decision will be made on a best value basis. The FDA intends to make an award immediately after the response date of this notice. The sole source procurement is being awarded as a simplified acquisition in accordance with FAR Part 13.
