Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source purchase order firm-fixed price type for Custom Synthesis of Putative Phosgene Metabolite to Isotec of Sigma Aldrich 3858 Benner Rd. Miamisburg, OH 45342-4304. The purpose of this procurement is to obtain supplies of a company with expertise in synthesis of both known and novel compounds at a high level of chemical and isotopic purity. The synthetic material will be used as standards in the development of analytical mass spectrometric methods for the identification and qualifications of human phosgene. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-2. This authority applies in those situations where an unusual and compelling urgency precludes full and open competition; and delay in award of a contract would result in serious injury, financial or other, to the Government. The proposed contract action is for supplies and services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302-2. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This procurement is not set-aside for small business.
