- Description
- The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS), intends to negotiate solely with Integrated Aqua Systems, Inc. in San Diego, CA to furnish and deliver two (2) EACH; 516 Gallon Integrated-Aqua Research Recirculating Systems and associated appurtenances. These items shall be delivered FOB Destination to the USDA, ARS, National Center for Cool and Cold Water Aquaculture (NCCCWA) in Kearneysville, WV. These systems will be used for our research on broodstock enhancement and improvement in rainbow trout growth, growth and feed efficiency and disease resistance utilizing methods to influence the animal's own hormonal systems using hormones, environmental alteration and manipulation of dietary components. The recirculating system need to be able to operate under conditions of full, partial, or complete flow-through (continuous fresh water rather than recirculated water), to allow for maximum ability to be a multi-user/flexible use system. The recirculation system must have 12-self-cleaning, circular, fiberglass tanks (~40 gallon) to ensure maximum flow and cleanliness for animals that have undergone surgical procedures. Stand-pipe fittings must be integrated (fiberglassed) into the bottom of the tanks for maximum durability and also permits the tanks to operate as self-cleaning tanks. Fiberglass is required to prevent leaching out of plastic which can influence the animal's physiology. The recirculating system must have a self-contained plastic-coated steel holding system with laminated, plastic-coated, shelved for enhanced resistance to rust or corrosion buildup and is non-toxic to the fish. The system must include the following: 1) a self-contained, plumed, filtration system that is skid mounted, and which has high-efficiency filtration for particulates. 2) an ultraviolet (UV) sterilizer for sterilization of the water. 3) a water and air pumps. 4) a low-profile (space) sump tank for collection of used water. 5) a integrated (single system) bio-filtration module that is capable of denitrifying used water and oxygenating (a) degassing up-draft counter flow of clean air) used water. 6) a temperature control which is capable of heating and cooling the water within one (1) degree Celsius of the desired temperature. 7) a Heat pump that includes a high-efficiency titanium heat exchanger that transfers excess heat into a waste-water stream rather than into the room. 8) A modular and plumed manifold system for delivering filtered/sterilized water and air to each tank. The integrated life-support system is proprietary to Integrated Aqua Systems, Inc. and includes a standard commercial warranty on the equipment. Companies with the demonstrated capability and financial capacity to provide and service such equipment must submit a written substantive statement outlining the Company's and systems' capabilities to the Contracting Officer within 5 days of publication of this notice. This is not a request for proposal. No solicitation is available.
