- Description
- The Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Service Center intends to award a contract on a sole-source basis to Sierra Nevada Corporation, 444 Salomon Circle, Sparks, NV 89434-9651 under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1. The North American Industry Classification System code is 334511. The size standard is 750 employees. This notice is issued to comply with the requirements of FAR Part 5. The award will be for performing management oversight, systems engineering, data gathering, analysis, and flight operations to integrate Hyperspectral imaging systems onto an airborne platform and pre-process and geo-rectify the acquired data for use by researchers over critical areas of the Yucca Mountains. This company is uniquely qualified to deliver the services needed. This is a notice of intent to award sole-source and is not a request for competitive proposals. Firms who want to challenge the sole-source must submit an interest letter that demonstrates the firm?s ability to provide the services described above. Interested parties must provide rationale as to why they should be considered. All interested firms must respond to DE-AC52-04NASierra by 3:00 MST, August 17, 2004 to: Linda Worthington, NNSA Service Center, P.O. Box 5400, Albuquerque, NM 87185-5400 or to lworthington@doeal.gov. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed commercial item contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This is an intent to award notice, therefore proposals cannot be submitted directly on this notice. Interested parties may provide rationale as to why they should be considered directly to the Contract Specialist.
