Description

This amendment modifies a sources sought synopsis (W911QX-RFI-04-0001) previously published on 29 Jul 04 to include the following specific application information for the power source: Soldier power: 20W-30W sources for powering solider systems. Dis mounted soldier: nominally 8-20W (average power load) for 72 hour operations, need solutions to reduce/eliminate requirements for battery resupply. Sensor systems (with and without communications) 20-100W, for remote and/or semi-fixed sites, need solutio ns to reduce/eliminate requirements for resupply and/or auxiliary power. Battery charging: 250W - 500W portable battery charger, carried by squad size unit. Auxiliary power: portable/ transportable, ~500W(+) silent power for shelters, C4ISR, powering bat tery chargers, etc. Voltage requirement(s) should be compatible with rechargeable batteries BB2590 (24V nominal). To clarify the requirement of the T&E procedures for units that are 'presently fully-engineered and packaged or will be in such a state by 1 October 2004', it is the Government's intent to seek for evaluation any developmental items meeting the criteria that would be complete, readily available and factory tested etc. by 1 October 2004 (i.e. the Government is not seeking a 'crash' new developm ent.)
