- The Bureau of Indian Affairs is seeking potential contractors to contract potential supplies/services needed for the Road Maintenance along 6.5 miles of Government owned Roads on the Catawba Indian Tribe Reservation in the South Carolina area. This is a Total Small Business Set aside. The award will be a Firm Fixed Price contract. The work will include (1). Machine blade and reshapeing of unpaved surfaces and ditches which involes blading, cutting down, reshaping, compacting, and hauling of built up material or pulling ditches, (2). Spot Patching with Bituminous Concrete which may be for emergency, temporary or permanent patching of small areas of the 6.5 miles of Bituminous roads which includes correcting abrupt depressions, pot holes, edge failures, and other potential surface hazards, (3). Tractor Mowing, Hand Mowing and brush/Tree Cutting which includes mowing of vegetation on roads sides, medians and interchanges mowing, mowing or trimming at area inaccessible to tractor mowers, cutting, trimming and removing brush and trees within the right-of-way, and (4) Cleaning of Minor Drainage Structures which includes periodic inspections, cleaning and removing of debris from pipe culverts, catch basins, inlet and outlet ditches. Recommended equipment which may be needed for this project: Front end loaders, dump trucks, rollers, motor graders, hand impactor, hand broom, arrow board, tractor mower, hand lawn mower, weed trimmer, rotary mower, chipper, saws, boom axe, and machancial pipe cleaner. In addition, the Contractor shall be registered with the CCR. All work shall be performed in accordance to according to all applicable South Carolina State Regulations, Safety procedures, License requirements and shall comply with 48 CFR part 36 Construction Regulation as it applys. The Government intends to award a one year contract not later than 31 August 2004. Contractor shall provide all labor, material, equipment and supplies as required to perform the work. The response received from this posting will be used to compile a list of potential sources for supplies/services. In particular, the Government is seeking to identify Qualified and Licensed vendors that can perform the work. This is not a notice for request for quotes, request for proposal, or invitation for bid issuance. This is not a solicitation for any type of requirement at all. This posting's purpose is only to uncover potential sources when the government has the requirement. The Government is in no way obligated to do business with or to enter into in any form of contract with any person, firm or other entity that receives this inquiry. The inquiry neither states or implies that furture contracts will be awarded to persons, firms, or other entities responding to this inquiry. However, there may be possibility for future business if/when the Government has a need for this type of service.
