Description

Modification to submission posted on FedBizOpps on July 30, 2004. Forest Service requires tailings removal from the Pope-Shenon mine site. The project is located on the Salmon/Cobalt Ranger District, Salmon-Challis National Forest, Lemhi County, Idaho. The project consists of, but is not limited to, hauling and placing approximately 4,300 cubic yards of mine tailings to a repository located at the Pope-Shenon mine site. The tailings repository will be constructed with the excavated tailings and capped with 1 foot of native soil and 1 foot of riprap available on-site. Two sediment basins will also be constructed to collect tailings that may erode from the mine site. Several existing roads will require general improvement for tailings haulage and two new temporary roads will need to be opened to access tailings. The temporary roads will require closure at the end of the project and all disturbed areas will be reclaimed and seeded. This project will be advertised as a written quotation and will be solicited under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The performance period shall be 45 calendar days. Work is estimated to start October 1, 2004. Quotes are due at 3:00 p.m. MST, September 13, 2004. The estimated price range is $25,000 to $100,000. All responsible vendors shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration database prior to award and have proper bonding capability. You may register at www.ccr.gov.
