- Industry Day, Anniston, Alabama, Architect-Engineering/Design Services for the New United States District Courthouse On Thursday, July 1, 2004, The United States General Services Administration (GSA), will conduct an Industry Day for Small Business Architect/Engineer firms that may be interested in submitting proposals on the Design Phase of the New United States District Courthouse in Anniston, Alabama. Industry Day will be conducted from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at The United States Federal Building/Courthouse, 1129 Noble Street Anniston, Alabama. The facility to be designed and constructed will consist of 65,482 gross square feet and will provide space for The U.S. District Court, The U. S. Magistrate Court and associated chambers and chambers for a visiting District Judge and a visiting Magistrate Judge. Space will be included for The United States Marshal Service, The United States Attorney, Probation Officers, and GSA. There will be twenty inside parking spaces. The courthouse will be located within the Central Business District, of Anniston, Alabama. The Estimated Total Project Cost (ETPC) is between $20,000,000 and $25,000,000 and most, if not all, design and construction disciplines are expected to be represented. THE DESIGN PROCUREMENT WILL BE RESTRICTED TO QUALIFIED SMALL BUSINESS ARCHITECT/ENGINEER FIRMS (NAICS CODE 541310) IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE SMALL BUSINESS COMPETITIVENESS DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM. Industry Day is intended to affirm GSA?s recognition of the talent that exists in the Small Business Community and its commitment to opening a dialogue between qualified Small Business Architect/Engineer Firms in that community who may qualify for the design services on this project. Small Business Architect/Engineer firms will be given an opportunity to meet the GSA Project Team, listen to a presentation on the scope of the project, and to participate in question and answer session with project team members. It is expected that at the conclusion of Industry Day participants will be in a better position to determine whether or not to further pursue this project.
