Description
SUPERVISORY TRAINING CLASS BACKGROUND The Department of Commerce, Office of the Secretary, The Office of Human Resource Management, Training and Knowledge Management Division, has a training initiative of improving the Supervisory Training Class. While the past evaluations for the class were in a good range, there is some room for improvement. The numerous evaluations indicated the need for more interaction and activities. The Supervisory Training Class can be improved by organizing the training outline, while consideration should be given to sequencing training topics, identifying the best methods for delivering each portion of the course, and establishing learning objectives. PURPOSE The Supervisory Training Class can be improved by forming a partnership between the DOC project manager of the Supervisory Training Class, the Subject Matter Expert (SME), and an instructional training vendor. SCOPE/OBJECTIVES The Contractor shall furnish the necessary personnel, materials, and services to provide the following services outline in this Scope of Work: Personnel to instruct the Supervisory Training Class. Handbook of pertinent information for participants taking the class to also include supplementary DOC OS regulations. Materials that support the training, which might include: overheads, job aids, articles, films, videos, DOC OS regulations or additional supplementary material. Level one evaluation at the end of each topic and an evaluation of the total class. Revised class and material after the evaluations have been analyzed for the initial pilot class. The Supervisory Training Class specifically designed for the Office of the Secretary. o Performance Objectives at the beginning of each topic o Interaction activities or exercises, which might include: exercises, role plays, simulations o Topics in the following areas:  Merit principles/prohibited personnel practices  Position classification and position management  Staffing and placement  EEO  Managing diversity  Performance management  Dealing with problem employees  Labor and employee relations  Awards  Employee development INVOICING/REPORTING The Contractor shall submit to invoices to Office of the Secretary no more than 60 days after the completion of the revision of the class. PLACE(S) OF PERFORMANCE The Supervisory Class will be held in the DOC Herbert Hoover Building, Room 6808, in Washington, DC.
