Description
17. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-24. The solicitation number for this acquisition is RFQ4087 and is being issued as a request for quotation. This acquisition will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is not a small business concern. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) for this acquisition is 325998 and the small business size is 500. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases intends to procure a Bigdye Terminator Reaction V3.1Cycle Sequencing Kit- quantity (2) and Capillary Array 3730XL 50 cm-quantity-(5) . This study is to investigate the molecular basis of drug resistance, parasite sexual development, and population genetics of human malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum. Currently, we are developing a high-resolution genetic map integrated with microsatellites and single nucleotide polymorphims (SNPs) by sequencing genes from multiple isolates. This effort involves quite large-scale DNA amplification and sequencing. The reagents will be used for DNA sequencing and is specific for ABI377 and ABI3100 machines; currently used in the lab. It is essential that the same reagents continue to be used to properly operate the ABI; machine will not run with any other reagent. The government will award a fixed price contract resulting from the solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the government, price and specific reagent. FOB Destination Delivery will be made to NIH/NIAID Rockville, Maryland 30 days after award of contract. The following FAR provisions and clauses apply to this acquisition: FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors -Commercial Items; FAR 52-212-2 Evaluation-Commercial Item; FAR 52.212-3 Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items; FAR 52-212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions- Commercial Items; FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statues or Executive Orders- Commercial Items. Offerors must include with their offer a completed copy of provisions at FAR 52.212-3 Offerors Representations and Certifications ? Commercial Items. Copies of the aforementioned clauses are available upon request by telephone.
