- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals/bids are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued, and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) web site http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FBO site to ensure that they have the most up to date information about this acquisition. Request for Quotation (RFQ) Number 2004 0163852 is being conducted under the procedures of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Parts 12 and 13. The RFQ incorporated provisions and clauses that are in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-24. The Federal Bureau of Investigation intends to award a sole source Brand Name specific, Firm Fixed Price type contract to Direct Dimensions, Owings Mill, Maryland. The items are as follows: CLIN # 1: Brand Name: Perceptron Portable Laser Scanner Probe Head; CLIN #2 Brand Name: Polyworks Modeler Software to include Laptop computer; CLIN # 3: Training on equipment. The items requested are accessories to equipment already purchased from Direct Dimensions under a General Services Administration Federal Supply Schedule. Those items are: FARO Arm Titanium Series 8? with 7 Axis Rotation; FARO Arm Portable Folding Tripod with wheels. The contractor shall provide: 1) onsite support technical support; provide 24 hour telephone support; provide loaner system within 24 hours of systems failure. The following clauses are incorporated by reference: FAR Clause 52.211-6 - Brand Name or Equal; 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors Commercial Items; 52.212-3 Offeror Representations and Certifications Commercial Items; Each offeror shall include a completed copy of 52.212-3 with response; 52.212-4 Contract Terms and Conditions Commercial Items; 52.212-5 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders - Commercial Items FAR Clause 52.215-5 - Facsimile Proposals; 52.217-6 Option to Increase Quantity; 52.217-9 Option to Extend; FAR 52.225-13 Restrictions on Certain Foreign Purchases; FAR 52.232-33 Payment by Electronic Funds Transfer. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however, interested persons may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement. Quotes must be clearly marked with Request for Quotation (RFQ) Number: RFQ-2004-0163852. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The evaluation of quotations and the determination as to equality of the product shall be the responsibility of the Government and will be based on information furnished by the vendor. The purchasing activity is not responsible for locating or securing any information which is not identified in the quotation and reasonable available to the purchasing activity. The government reserves the right to request product samples that can be tested for compatibility. The Government will not pay for any information or sample(s) received. Quotations may be opened at an off-site facility for security/safety reasons and will be resealed and forwarded to the appropriate person. As a result of this, delays may occur in the receipt of your quotation therefore, your quote should be faxed to 202-324-0570. The Government reserves the right to award this Contract without discussion. FOB: Destination to the FBI, Woodbridge, Virginia 22192. Delivery of items shall be 90 days after receipt of order.
