- Description
- 1. This is a Notice of Intent for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This notice is issued under Request for Quotation (RFQ) 0167927, using Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The NAICS is 421450. The provisions and clauses incorporated are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-24. This notice will result in an aggregate award for a Firm-fixed Price, one-time buy. The Government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Whatman, Incorporated, 9 Bridewell Place, Clifton, NJ 07014 for the following items: (1) Part Number WB 12 FBI Double Gene card with Preprinted Sequential Barcodes (100 pack), Quantity 100 each; (2) Part Number WB 10-0011 Small Multi Barrier Pouch (500 pack), Quantity 40 each; (3) Part Number WB 10-0003 Desiccant (1000 pack), Quantity 20 each; (4) Option 2 Small Multi-Barrier pouches with preprinted sequential barcodes; and (5) Shipping and Handling Charge. These items are being purchased in order for the FBI to archive blood specimens that are received from collection facilities around the country. Therefore, this notice is not a request for competitive quotes. However, the Government will consider all quotes received by 4:00 p.m., EDT, on August 26, 2004. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. See Note 22
