- This is a second modification to the previously posted (29 Jun 04) combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items entitled “PC Cluster” prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. Reference Modification 1 (posted 6 Jul 04), Paragraph 1.e. is changed to read: (3) 146 GB U320 SCSI 10,000 RPM hard drives (Configured for Raid 5). This modification hereby corrects reference to paragraph 1.e. to read paragraph 1.f. Changes have been made under “Other Hardware” paragraph 3 a. b. and c. See below for updated specifications. The Contract Line Item Number is 0001 – Qty 1 each – price shall include: 1.(1) Master (Head) Node: a. 4U rackmount chassis with 460 Watt UL power supply b. Intel Xeon 7501 chipset motherboard with 533MHz FSB c. (2) Xeon 3.06 GHz processors with 512 cache (533 FSB), heat sink and fan d. (2) 512 MB DDR 266 MHz ECC/REG low profile e. Mirrored Raid for cluster setup, RAID controller f. (3) 146 GB U320 SCSI 10,000 RPM hard drives (Configured for Raid 5) g. 3.5” Floppy Drive h. CDRW 48X/24X/48X drive i. SVGA video adapter j. SUSE Linux k. (2) 10/100/1000 Base T Gigabit network ports l. Keyboard m. Mouse 2.(15) Slave (Compute) Nodes: a. 1U rackmount chassis with 300 Watt UL power supply b. Intel Xeon 7501 chipset motherboard with 533 MHz FSB c. (2) Xeon 3.06 GHz processors with 512 cache (533 FSB), heat sink, and fan d. (2) 512 MB DDR 266 MHz ECC/REG low profile e. 40 GB 7,200 rpm hard drive f. SVGA video adapter g. 10/100/1000 Base T Gigabit network port h. SUSE Linux 3.Other hardware: a. 44U rack cabinet with side panels b. UPS systems that use standard 20 AMP plugs (for example, NEMA 5-20P. Cannot use twist lock plugs.) c. BaseT Gigabit Network Switch 4.Software: a. Cluster management software b. GNU scientific compilers c. CD burning software on the master node. 5.Vendor will provide onsite installation of PC cluster, to include onsite training on cluster management software. The Government reserves the right to award the contract without initiating discussions. The response date to this request for quote remains 12:00 p.m. on 16 Jul 04 (per Modifciation 1). The quote shall be signed by an official authorized to bind the company. Offerors shall submit 1 copy of their quote and the Representations and Certifications (FAR 52.212-3) to be sent to Mrs Sharon Novak, 11 CONS/LGCN, 110 Luke Ave Rm 230, Bolling AFB, DC 20032-0305.
