Description

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is soliciting prospective contractors for maintenance dredging of the Pawtuxet Cove, Cranston and Warwick, Rhode Island. Approximately 90,000 cubic yards of shoal material, which varies from sil ty sand to silt, will be dredged from the channel, anchorage, and turning basin to restore the project to authorized dimensions. Dredged material will be removed mechanically by an enclosed clamshell bucket. The dredged material shall be loaded onto scow s and disposed in an existing Contained Aquatic Disposal cell at the Providence River Federal Navigation Project. The contractor must have dredging equipment on-site to initiate dredging within 30 days of the notice to proceed, prosecute the work diligent ly, and complete the entire work ready for use not later than 120 calendar days after the date the Contractor receives notice to proceed. The time stated for completion shall include final cleanup of the premises. Due to environmental restrictions dredgin g operations at the project site will only be permitted from October 1 through January 31. All dredging work must be completed within one dredging season. The NAICS code for this Procurement is 237990, with a Size Standard of $17.02 million. This solici tation is issued on an unrestricted basis. The estimated issue date for this procurement is on or about 1 September 2004. Prospective contractors and subcontractors are required to self-register their firm or office on the Internet to receive the solicit ation. Registration instructions are available on the Internet at http://www.nae.usace.army.mil as well as the media by which the solicitation will be made available. Amendments, if any, to this solicitation will be made available at this Internet site. Neither telephonic, mailed nor fax requests will be accepted. Those registering are responsible for the accuracy of the information on the registration list. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by the New England District.
