- The U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service has a requirement for a mobile automated fish marking and tagging systems for the Upper Columbia River Fisheries Program Office in Vancouver, WA. This requirement is being procured pursuant to FAR Part 13.5 Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The Government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Northwest Marine Technology, Inc. of Shaw Island, WA, in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1; for the furnishing of AutoFish System, SCT6 Marking and Tagging System, consisting of fish sorter equipment subsystems, electrical, water, marking, and accessories contained within a gooseneck trailer. The NMT automated system is unique in the capability to automatically inject coded wire tags (CWT) and excise adipose fins on juvenile salmonids. The AutoFish SCT6 is capable of marking up to 120,000 fish in a 24-four hour period, with minimal human handling and no anethesia; and is the only unit known which will enable the Columbia Basin federal hatcheries to meet the Congressional mandate of mass marking hatchery reared salmonids. This is not a request for competitive proposals, however, the Government will consider all proposals received within 10 calendar days after the date of publication of this notice.
