Description
NAICS Code: 541710 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has a requirement for "Physical Modeling of Urban Dispersion in the Meteorological Wind Tunnel." Currently, the EPA is involved in the execution of laboratory studies within the Fluid Modeling Facility's (FMF) Meteorological Wind Tunnel, to develop data bases that can be used, specifically, to generate near and mid-range concentrations of pollutants emitted within complex urban settings and, generally, to compare velocity fields and concentration fields against those estimated by Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) models. The facility is a complex system of computer-controlled instrumentation that is designed and delicately balanced to satisfy the requirements of laboratory fluid modeling studies of atmospheric phenomena. Specifically, the wind-tunnel experiments involve a study of flow and dispersion in highly complex and urbanized areas. NAICS Code 541710 applies with a small business size standard of 500 employees. The Request for Quote (RFQ) is expected to be issued approximately fifteen days after the date this notice is posted. Quotes will be due approximately 15 calendar days after issuance of the RFQ. This quote will be awarded as a result of a small business set-aside simplified acquisition with Full and Open Competition. The RFQ and amendments will be available via the Internet http://www.epa.gov/oam/rtp_cmd. It will be your responsibility to frequently check the same site where the solicitation is posted for any amendments. Telephone and fax request will not be honored. All responsible sources may submit a RFQ which shall be considered by the Agency.
