Description
This is a Sources Sought Notice. The Department of Defense (DoD) Chemical Biological Medical Systems (CBMS) Joint Vaccine Acquisition Program (JVAP) is interested in creating a Mentor-Prot?g? Program in coordination with our prime systems contractor , DynPort Vaccine Company LLC (DVC). The Mentor-Prot?g? program provides incentives for Army contractors to assist eligible prot?g?s in enhancing their capabilities to satisfy Army and other contract requirements, in order to increase the overall particip ation of eligible prot?g?s in Army acquisitions. 'Eligible prot?g?s' is defined as small and disadvantaged businesses (SDB), organizations that hire the severely handicapped, and women-owned small businesses (WOSB). The Army objective is to help foster t he relationship between the mentor and the prot?g? to increase the industrial supplier base and enable the transition of eligible prot?g?s from subcontractors to prime contractors. Parties purporting to have the requisite credentials to participate in the program should furnish in writing information that supports eligibility along with a capabilities statement . Email susan.dell@det.amedd.army.mil Background: DVC is a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the development and licensure of safe and efficacious biodefense vaccines for the U.S. Department of Defense and civilian populations.? DVC was formed in 1997 and chosen as the prime systems cont ractor for the Department of Defense JVAP.? The prime systems contractor coordinates multiple subcontractors to perform work under a 'prime' contract. Subcontractors are chosen for their expertise in specific areas.? Under the JVAP prime systems contract, DVC is charged with the advanced development, licensure and initial production and stockpile of several biodefense products. This development effort includes: process refinement, cGMP production, nonclinical testing, clinical evaluation, and submission of Biologics License Applications to the FDA. The biodefense vaccines & therapeutics current pipeline includes botulinum multivalent vaccine, botulinum polyclonal anti-toxin, plague vaccine, vaccinia immune globulin (smallpox vaccine antiserum), and Venezue lan equine encephalitis vaccine. DVC is a CSC company.
