- Description
- In accordance with Title XI of the Social Security Act, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) intends to contract with entities meeting the qualifications of Quality Improvement Organizations (QIOs) for a three year contract beginning August 2005. QIO work is a continuous quality improvement effort in the Medicare beneficiary arena and covers a broad spectrum of work, not limited to, but including work in nursing home settings, home health settings, and doctor's offices. Immediately following the posting of this notice, CMS will issue a draft of the statement of work framework for the next QIO contract cycle. Comments will be invited, although comments will not be responded to by the Agency. Information on how to submit comments and dates for comments will be provided in the subsequent notice.
