Description

The VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System intends to award a sole source contract under the authority of FAR Part 6.302 to a firm by the name of Passport Health Communications, Inc., for Internet-based access for insurance carrier eligibility and benefits verification. Passport provides secure Internet based access for insurance carrier eligibility and benefits verification, claims status inquiry, report capabilities, and other services. Access to information will be web-based with no additional hardware or software requirements. Secure internet based access for patient locator inquiries utilizing either social security number or patient name and last known address will be provided with no additional hardware or software requirements. This will be a TVHS procurement, for the VISN 9 Mid-South Customer Account Center. The intended contract will be for base period plus 3 optional one-year periods. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties that believe they can meet these needs with an equal product must furnish sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements no later than 2:00pm, September 7, 2004. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. Responses received will be reviewed however; a determination by the Government to compete the proposed procurement based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, TVHS will proceed with a sole source procurement with Passport Health Communications, Inc. Email or fax your questions to the attention of Kara Parsley.
