Description
Item 0001: PLURAL MIXING COMPONENT. MCLC 814 Radford Blvd Ste 20325 Bldg 1310 Albany, GA 31704 Delivery date: 9/7/2004. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial supplies prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This requirement is being issued as a Request for Quotation. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-24 and Defense Acquisition Circular 91-13. This action is unrestricted to small businesses, has a NAICS code of 333913, and a size standard of 500 employees. This solicitation contains (1) one CLIN; it is the government's intent of awarding a firm-fixed price requirement contract. The Marine Corps Logistics Command; Albany, Georgia has a requirement for the following items. All work will be performed using applicable technical manuals and manufacturers service manu! als. CLIN 0001: The following is a specification to procure, deliver and install MODEL PK3 plural paint mixing unit as a production unit in support of the AAVRAM/RS project. This unit will be utilized at paint booths in the Maintenance Center to mix and control the use of paint used to camouflage vehicles and equipment. The unit shall have the ability to spray all the technologies- airless, air assisted airless, conventional (used at the Base), and HVLP. The unit shall be part of the plural mixing system able to supply and support a seven day, 24 hour paint operation in a heavy industrial environment. In order to support this operation this component unit must be identical to present units to plug into existing electronic components and system. Pumping system. The pump shall be a electronic linear displacement pump providing a continuous flow from 0-3,000 pounds per square inch (psi) with accurate ratios and precision flow rates. The pumps shall provide precision meteri! ng of fluids with differential viscosities. The pump will have select controls (a,b,c) for components to provide separate pump flushing and component priming. The system shall include an automatic flushing system to provide water and solvent flush of respective component circuits for 3 component waterborne chemistries. The line flushing system shall automatically disable the Spray Mode while flushing the Ratio Check Module, Manifold, Mix Tube, Output Line Hoses, and the guns. The automatic pump flushing system which permits quick flushing of material pump for color change shall be included on pumps A and B components. There shall be a minimum of one pump per component powered by gear driven motor to insure accuracy of metering. Gear ratios for the pumps will be as follows: Component "A" 20:1, Component "B" 20:1, and Component "C" 30:1. The pump shall also have internal fault sensors. Ratio Check: A ratio check module shall be included to allow the painter to perf! orm ratio checks on a regular basis. The ratio check module shall also provide a fill station to allow filling of small kits or spray gun cups. Cup holders for each test shall be included ( a minimum of three) at the fill station. Controls: The electronic section shall be enclosed in a pressured NEMA enclosure for safety and cooling. A 10 inch color touch screen shall be included with a transparent glass cover to prevent environmental contamination. The controls shall have a pressure interlock switch which shall shut down the system if positive air pressure is terminated to the electronics section to ensure safe operation. The unit shall include uncontrolled flow detection. The uncontrolled detection shall shut down the paint plural mixing system automatically if uncontrolled flow is detected. The flow rates shall be adjustable over a wide range , cc/minute to gallon/minute. The unit shall include an hour meter to track operation of system for preventative maintenance! purposes. Included shall be the software to handle the Pressure Pot/Scales input information, the Water Borne Conversion Kit, and the MSS Material Sensor Supply Option. Power Requirements: The system shall utilize 120 volts nominal , 60 hertz, and single phase power supply. Technical Data: Supplied shall be a set of maintenance manuals, operator's manuals, drawings, and parts lists for the unit. The service provider will provide quality service in accordance with the applicable documents listed above. The government reserves the right to select bids based on cost, delivery schedule, and as most advantageous to the government. The Government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation, is considered to be the best value to the Government.
