- Description
- The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) intends to issue a full and open solicitation to procure an optically variable feature suitable for incorporation into US currency paper as a windowed thread. An unrestricted full and open competitive solicitation is planned. A fixed-price indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity type contract is anticipated encompassing a base period of twelve months with four (4) twelve month option periods. Offerors will be requested to submit a material sample of film and thread with their offer for test and evaluation. A sample of the offered thread in paper will not be required. The source selection decision will be based upon overall best value to the BEP, price and non-price factors considered. It is anticipated that a solicitation will be issued by March 2004. A thirty (30) day response time is planned for submission of proposal with material samples. BEP is posting this announcement, as well as, the final solicitation on the Government Single Point of Entry identified as Federal Business Opportunities at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Interested offerors are encouraged to register for electronic notification for issuance of the final solicitation, amendments or changes to this notice. Offerors may also provide an e-mail address to the Bureau to receive electronic notification.
