- Description
- THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT; THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS ONLY. The purpose of this sources sought synopsis is to gain knowledge of potentially qualified sources and their ability to perform the work contemplated in a future solicitation for construction services. Following is a general description of work for the anticipated contract: The National Park Service anticipates the need for the structural stabilization of a historic stone Hogan & subsurface drainage improvements at Hubbell Trading Post National Historic Site. The Hogan is an eight sided structure, approximately 24 feet in diameter, with 24" thick cut-stone walls and a rubble foundation. The Hogan walls are showing signs of movement, and many large cracks are visible on the interior plaster walls. Two large cracks are also visible on the exterior of the stone, which extend from ground level to the roof eave. The proposed construction contract will include excavation adjacent to the existing rubble foundation, removal of an existing perimeter drain and construction of a reinforced concrete foundation. The grade beam will be supported by helical piers at each corner of the building. The contract may also include drainage improvements including a new perimeter drain along with a drain to a subsurface infiltration area (approximately 40 to 70 lf). A cut-off drain may also be constructed near the Hogan and drained to a subsurface area, for a total of approximately 85 - 120 lf. The contract will also include an archeological monitor to inspect all excavation work. The site is totally accessible by truck and boring rig. The estimated price range is $25,000 to $100,000.The tentative issue date for this procurement is October of 2004. The Project & Contracting Office is looking for the following information: (1) Description of specialized experience in performing work similar in scope to that which is contemplated; (2) a list of present projects, as well as projects performed in the last three (3) years that are of a similar nature to work contemplated (please describe scope and size of project). Responses should not exceed one (1) page. Address responses to John Chaney, Contract Specialist with The National Park Service., e-mail: John_Chaney@NPS.Gov, Phone: (303) 969-2303. Responses are due September 9, 2004.
