- Description
- The purpose of this Sources Sought Synopsis modification is to remove all requirements for the AFOSR External Programs and Interface (AFOSR/PIE) from this Sources Sought Synopsis and to limit the effort to the following tasks. Capability Statements are due 31 Aug 04. 1. AFOSR Technical Communications requires contractor support for the following: Protocol Support: 1) Receive and escort all AFOSR visitors, which may include: Members of Congress, General Officers, US Government Senior Executives (SES), US and International Scientists, and other VIPs. 2) Communicate daily with AFOSR Director, Deputy, Chief Scientist, Directorate Directors, Secretaries, and other AFOSR personnel on all AFOSR public affairs and protocol issues. 3) Perform general secretarial and administrative duties (such as answering incoming calls, maintaining schedules and arranging travel for AFOSR senior personnel, processing memos, filing correspondence, and copying documents). 4) Assist with AFOSR website maintenance and public affairs as needed. Communications Program Support: 1) Support development and implementation of interactive and fast-paced media campaigns, providing administrative support in various ways. 2) Track AFOSR internal documents (such as Research Highlight narratives, photos, graphics, media response to queries, security and policy review cases, Air Force media reports, and other periodic projects) needed to produce AFOSR?s communication products. 3) Maintain contact with other Air Force, university, and industry offices for project coordination and special event support, such as: a) drafting correspondence and agendas, b) arranging meetings, seminars, and similar interactions, c) creating and maintaining contact databases, and d) distributing and tracking requests for information and publications. 4) Provide summaries of media stories that impact AFOSR mission. Public Affairs Office Support: 1) Prepare, coordinate, and review responses to media inquiries. 2) Develop materials and media campaigns to publicize Air Force basic research programs and activities, including publication of the Research Highlights. 3) Maintain the AFOSR World Wide Web homepage. 4) Maintain liaison with various DoD public affairs organizations. Historical/Archiving Support: 1) Coordinate and maintain AFOSR historical documents and data files. 2) Develop an organization/retention plan for useful documents and data files. 3) Prepare appropriate documentation describing documents and data files. 4) Draft point papers, correspondence, and other documentation for determining appropriate data preservation and disposition. 5) Coordinate with relevant USAF history offices for appropriate document and data file disposition. Any information submitted by respondents to this synopsis is strictly voluntary. The Government will not pay for any information that is submitted by respondents to this SOURCES SOUGHT request.
