Description
This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE for initial market research purposes only. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. REQUESTS FOR A SOLICITATION WILL NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE. The U.S. Air Force' Electronic Systems Center is requesting price and availability information regarding relatively low-cost, off-the-shelf air surveillance and control systems. The target users for the requested system have minimal experience and ability to support advanced technology systems and therefore, the USAF is seeking candidate systems that use consumer grade operating system software and off-the-shelf consumer grade computer hardware. The primary system objective is to generate and display a real-time national air picture using source data that may include primary and secondary radar plot data, radar track data, flight plan data, and other airspace management information. The secondary system objective is to provide automated capabilities that support guidance and control of aircraft. The third objective is to interoperate (exchange data) with other installations or similar systems. Request firms having candidate systems provide the following information pertaining to the capabilities, price and availability of such candidate systems: Provide an overall system description, including intended use and air surveillance and air control functions. Provide system performance specifications and capacities to the extent possible. Describe operational software structure, language and standards with which it is compliant. Identify whether source code is made available to the procuring activity or end user. Identify system hardware and operating system software configuration. Identify system interface capabilities, including quantity and format type. Identify radar interface specifications, including quantity and format. Identify hardware and software maintenance concept. Identify any operational, training and system support features that would be advantageous to the target users. Identify where this system is or has been in use. Provide system cost data, include whether licensing is required, if so, whether site or national licenses are available. Provide expected lead time required for delivery, fielding and training. This synopsis is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a request for bid or proposal. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this notice or otherwise pay for information provided in response to this synopsis.
