- Description
- The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate solely with Information Builders, Inc., 2300 Clarendon Boulevard, Suite 800, Arlington, VA 22201 to purchase the upgrade and maintenance for Government-owned IBI perpetual software licenses. The FOCMAN, EDA Full Function Server and EDA IDMS/R Read Driver software licenses that are installed on System 81 have been upgraded from an IBM z900-2064-1C8 to a z900-2064-1C9 and represent a 161 MIP increase. The FOCUS is used as an application development and reporting tool. It is used to create reports from any rational or legacy database and provides cross platform portability for integrating data from any database for custom application development, reporting, and analysis. EDA provides data level integration to virtually any database or application technology or computer platform used by SSA and allows processing personnel to interact with any information system to extract data and translate it into an equivalent set of native Data Base Management System. The software allows data from different databases to be developed into various management information reports. The FOCMAN and EDA are proprietary licenses. IBI is the only known source. The Government anticipates an award in accordance with FAR PART 8.402(f). Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill this requirement. A solicitation is not available; therefore, written and/or verbal requests for copies of a solicitation related to this announcement will not be honored. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
