Description: The Summit Shredding 2004 project is located on the Summit Ranger District of the Stanislaus National Forest. Work consists of mechanically thinning overstocked plantations to reduce fuels and competition by mechanically shredding/cutting/chipping live and dead brush, slash, dead trees less than 40.7 cm (16 inches) DBH, and trees. Work shall be done in a manner that does not damage residual trees or specified non-treated vegetation. Est. Contract time: 40 days. Est. start work: Sept. 27, 2004. Project location will be specified in solicitation. When solicitation is prepared it will be posted on fedbizopps and available for downloading.
