- Description
- This contract requires pre-commercial tree thinning of pines, hardwoods, slash treatment and related work in accordance with the attached terms and specifications. The thinning will take place in units that were artificially reforested with trees and having some natural regeneration, so the distributions of trees are not completely uniform. The Contractor shall furnish labor, equipment, tools, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals necessary to perform the work. The Contractor may accomplish the thinning by chainsaw, brushcutters, or hand tools, or a combination thereof. Slash work shall also be accomplished by the same tools and may also require some dragging. It is recommended that all contractors make a pre-bid inspection of the contract units to assess site conditions for themselves. The contract time for completion of this project shall be 66 calendar days. NAICS code is 115310 with a size standard of $6.0 million. All vendors are required to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) prior to award of a Federal contract. The preferred method for completing registration is via the World Wide Web at http://www.ccr.gov/. A handbook and other information are available at the site, including information on how to obtain a DUNS number, which is required to begin the registration process. Solicitation package will be posted and available to download on http://fedbizopps.gov on or after August 18, 2004. The scheduled date for the Pre-Bid/Site Visit will be included in the solicitation.
