Description
The Department of State has a requirement for quantity 200 Advanced Intelligent Tape (AIT)-2 50/100GB Internal Native Drives with integrated hot-plug drive tray carrier for use in a HP DL380G3 Server and intends to procure through competitive bids in accordance with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. A Firm Fixed Price contract is anticipated. Configured Item Description: Advanced Intelligent Tape (AIT)-2 50/100GB Internal Native Drive with integrated hot-plug drive tray carrier for use in a HP DL380G3 Server. Integrated Drive Tray Carrier Assembly Requirements: The carrier must be constructed of rugged carbon fiber plastic or equivalent material to withstand as many as 1000 insertions and removals per year. The carrier must have a 'Hot Plug' backplane connector and snap-lock assembly that locks into a hot plug bay, and a pair of release handles for removal from the hot plug bay. The carrier must be compatible with hot plug tape drive bays in Compaq/HP Proliant and StorageWorks 4XXX, ML and DL series servers. Users must be able to install, remove and replace the AIT tape drive in a hot plug bay without disrupting the server or any other device. The tape drive must be automatically detected upon installation and must be accessible and functional without rebooting the server. The tape drive must be rated at 400,000 hour MTBF at 100% duty cycle. Tape Drive Requirements: The AIT-2 50GB native capacity tape drive must have a one button disaster recovery feature and must be capable of internal 50/100GB data compression at a 6MB/second native transfer rate. The drive must be fully compatible with Microsoft Windows Server 2000 and 2003. The AIT-2 drive must comply with 8mm media form-factor for installation in a compact 1.6 inch drive mechanism. The drive must provide helical-scan recording, Memory-in-Cassette (MIC) architecture, and advanced read/write head technology on Advanced Metal Evaporated (AME) media. The AIT-2 tape drive must have full backward read- and write-compatibility with AIT-1 media. Technical Compliance Testing: In order to ensure that vendor offerings are technically compliant with PMA's technical and system requirements, a production unit must be evaluated by the PMA Joint Lab prior to award. Warranty Requirements: Three years on the carrier and tape drive. All items must be delivered within 30 days of contract award. If you cannot deliver within that timeframe, do not bid. FOB Destination shall be Springfield, VA 22153. The Government plans to award a commercial item contract to the lowest priced, technically acceptable offeror based on both price and delivery capability.
