- Description
- Construction project provides for extensive renovation of approximately 6,400 gsf of space previously used as a unit to provide medical care to patients. Ceiling demolition work includes removal of gypsum drywall and plaster ceilings, light fixtures, plumbing, conduit, ductwork, etc. In addition, demolition includes removal of walls construction of masonry and gypsum drywall, including conduit, piping, and wiring. The new area will be constructed to provide fourteen (14) exam rooms in support of a Specialty Clinic for outpatient care. Included with the new construction is the installation of new walls, ceilings and floor finished, plus all casework, plumbing fixtures, lighting and related material for a fully functioning clinic. Also included will be a separate HVAC ductwork system served from the attic above, for ventilation air to the completed area. The design has been prepared to provide for detailed coordination with asbestos abatement work, for both the main floor of work and the plumbing related work in the ceiling below. This construction in the floor below involves phasing fo the work in the Emergency Room department to maintain the unit in operation during the project, thus requiring close supervision of the general construction, and coordination with a separate asbestos abatement contract.
