- U.S. Army RDECOM Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division has a requirement to develop low density high strength biodegradable composite from various natural fibers with modified protein adhesives along with characterizing the structure, textu re, mechanical properties, and thermal expansion behavior of the newly developed biodegradable composite. The Government anticipates awarding one 1 Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order to Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS. This research project is a join t effort between Natick and the Navy as part of an ongoing program for soy protein based-adhesive for low-density composites, which is expected to match the specifications for gun plug. There are no other qualified laboratories that have his expertise and characterization. Delivery in the form of reports shall be F.O.B. Destination. The North American Industry Classification System for this procurement is 541710 and the Small Business Size Standard is 500.
