- Description
- The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has a requirement for fuels management services 5 miles west of Susanville, California, out Highway 36, in a project area accessible via Riverbench Road. The purpose of the STEWARDSHIP PROJECT is to provide services for fuels reduction and forest health improvement via Stand Density reduction through Commercial thinning (97 MBF board feet / 135 acres), Understory canopy reduction (2880 green tons biomass removal), and Brush ladder fuels reduction. The project area contains an estimated 135 acres of sawlog material removal and product other than logs (POL) service activity on public lands administered by the BLM Eagle Lake Field Office. The project area is primarily Ponderosa Pine timber types with slopes of 0-15%. The Contractor shall develop and submit a Treatment Plan and Schedule to accomplish the project objectives, and organize and direct all of the equipment and personnel needed to fully accomplish the work. This includes furnishing labor, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals to perform all work necessary to accomplish the required services. The period of performance will begin on or about October 1, 2004 and may continue for up to 2 years. This requirement is 100% set-aside for small businesses under NAICS 115310. This solicitation will be available on or about August 5, 2004. A pre-proposal site tour will be held on August 16, 2004 at 2:00 pm. All interested parties should plan to meet the BLM point of contact, Don Dockery, at the BLM Eagle Lake Field Office, 2950 Riverside Drive, Susanville, CA. Mr. Dockery should be notified at least 48 hours prior to the site tour if you plan to attend, and may be contacted for more information regarding the tour at (530) 257-0456. Potential offerors may obtain a copy of the solicitation at http://www.fedbizopps.gov or http://ideasec.nbc.gov. No hard copies of the solicitation will be provided. Contractors must be registered at http//www.ccr.gov to be considered eligible for award. Facsimile proposals will not be accepted.
