Description
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has a requirement for fuels management services approximately 15 miles west of Ely, NV on the South side of U.S. Highway 50. The purpose of the STEWARDSHIP PROJECT is to provide services for fuels reduction and forest health improvement, via mechanically thinning approximately 800 acres of rangelands in condition class 3 and fire regime group II in the Gleason Creek Watershed. The project will involve removing live trees down to a prescribed burn density of not more than 10 trees per acre. The project area consists of approximately 800 acres within three soil mapping units (SMUs): SMU 1260; 687.8 acres, SMU 802; 108 acres, and SMU 334; 10 acres. The project will be split over 2 years with approximately 350 acres being treated the first year. The Contractor shall develop and submit a Treatment Plan and Schedule to accomplish the project objectives, and organize and direct all of the equipment and personnel needed to fully accomplish the work. This includes furnishing labor, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals to perform all work necessary to accomplish the required services. The period of performance will begin on or about October 1, 2004 and may continue for up to 5 years. This requirement is 100% set-aside for small businesses under NAICS 115310. This solicitation will be available on or about August 5, 2004. A pre-proposal site tour will be held on August 17, 2004 at 8:00 am. All interested parties should plan to meet the BLM point of contact, Kurt Braun, at the BLM Ely Field Office, 702 N. Industrial Way, Ely, Nevada, 89301. Mr. Braun should be notified at least 48 hours prior to the site tour if you plan to attend, and may be contacted for more information regarding the tour at (775) 289-1870. Potential offerors may obtain a copy of the solicitation at http://www.fedbizopps.gov or http://ideasec.nbc.gov. No hard copies of the solicitation will be provided. Contractors must be registered at http//www.ccr.gov to be considered eligible for award. Facsimile proposals will not be accepted.
