- Description
- POC: Tangee Brookie, U. S. Geological Survey, Box 25046, MS-204A, Denver, CO 80225, e-mail: tbrookie@usgs.gov. The U. S. Geological Survey, Water Resources Division, Kansas District, has a requirement for a nitrate sensor for continuous use in streams and lake systems. The instrument must be able to measure nitrate concentrations in water to an accuracy of +-0.03 mg/L, without the use of chemical reagents. It must be able to measure nitrate concentrations every 2 seconds, provide digital output to a DCP, be RS-232 compatible with existing instrumentation at Lake Olathe and Cheney Reservoir. The instrument must be able to compute nitrate concentration across a broad range of the nitrate absorption spectrum. The instrument must also require little maintenance and be doployable for extended periods of time. Based on information at this time, and in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253(1), implemented by FAR 6.302-1, the Government considers the equipment specified as a sole source requirement from Satlantic, Inc., 3841 N. Marginal Road, Halifax Nova Scotia, Canada, and proposes to negotiate a contract with that firm on that basis. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the required equipment are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement. An affirmative response would include literature, brochures, and such other materials which correspond to the required items stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitation document exists, requests for such documents without accompanying information will be considered non-responsive to this request without further consideration. This notice may represent the Government's only official notice of this procurement.
