- Description
- The U.S. Geological Survey has a requirement to purchase a high-resolution, magnetic sector, noble gas mass spectrometer for 40Ar/39Ar geochronology of young rocks. The mass spectrometer is to be used with a USGS-built ultra-high-vacuum argon extraction line. The spectrometer must have a high sensitivity, very low background, and peak shape sufficient to yield argon isotope analyses of the highest possible precision. The acquisition method will be negotiated. A determination not to continue with this acquisition based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond within 30 days of this announcement.
