Description
The Naval Air Systems Command Conventional Strike Weapons Program Office (PMA-201) conducted a Market Survey of Industry on 12 July 2004 to determine potential interested sources who have the skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required to successfully develop and provide a non-pyrotechnic multi purpose bomb rack for carriage and release of 1000lb class weapons and below to include all weapons and stores employed on BRU-33/41/42/55/57 bomb racks. This rack is also intended for employment of future weapons such as Joint Common Missile and Small Diameter Bomb. This rack must employ weapons and stores cleared to the current envelope of the F/A-18 series and JSF (all variants) aircraft. This rack must have the same outer mold line, ejection velocities and mass properties as the BRU-33/55 and must not require any aircraft mission computer software changes. Respondents can request a copy of the draft performance specification from linda.tome@navy.mil or at Naval Air Systems Command, Building 2272 Room 453, 47123 Buse Road Unit IPT, Patuxent River, MD 20670-1547. The Government plans to hold an industry day at JT Daugherty Conference Center, 22111 Three Notch Road, Lexington Park, MD 20653 on 24 August 2004 at 08:00. Industry Day will entail a 2 to 3 hour presentation by the Government followed by questions and answers and optional one-on-one side meetings with interested companies. Companies attending Industry Day should limit their representation to no more than 3 individuals. Companies shall provide the Name of the Company, Point of Contact (POC), Title, E-Mail address, Phone Number, Social Security Number, Birth Country, Visitor Birth City and State (IF in the US), Citizenship and Country of Residence. It is requested that interested companies also submit to this office a brief capabilities statement demonstrating their ability to develop and provide the new Multi Purpose Bomb Rack. This document shall address at a minimum, the following: (1) Prior/current corporate experience demonstrating an understanding, through similar experience, of bomb racks; (2) statement of prior/current experience that includes design verification, first article and qualification testing; (3) statement of prior/current experience with performing engineering analysis in support of flight clearance certification work such as: structural verification testing, reliability testing, environmental testing, EMI/EMV testing, safety testing, and flight testing; (4) experience with systems integration, manufacturing and delivering hardware; (5) company profile to include number of employees, Cage Code, DUNS number, NAICS Code and a statement regarding current small business status: (6) resources available such as corporate management, facilities and manning to be assigned to the project: (7) statement on whether your interest in this sources sought is to be prime contractor or are you seeking subcontracting possibilities. All responses to this sources sought and questions pertaining to this announcement shall be submitted to the following: linda.tome@navy.mil or at Naval Air Systems Command, Building 2272 Room 453, 47123 Buse Road Unit IPT, Patuxent River, MD 20670-1547, no later that 18 August 2004. THIS SYNOPSIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. It is a market research tool being used to enlist industries comments on the draft performance specification and to determine the availability and adequacy of potential business sources prior to determining the method of acquisition and issuance of a Request for Proposal including the use of any appropriate small business programs. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis.
