Description
THE PURPOSE OF THIS AMENDMENT IS TO EXTEND THE BID OPENING DATE UNTIL SEPTEMBER 8, 2004 AT 2:00 PM (CENTRAL TIME) AND CONTAINS CLARIFICATION OF TWO ITEMS FROM THE PRE BID MEETING. The United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Midwest Area has a project entitled Install HVAC at LBRU Barn. The project is located at USDA, ARS, MWA, Livestock Behavior Research Unit (LBRU), W. Lafayette, IN. The work includes but is not limited to: furnishing all labor, supervision, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and other necessary work for heating, ventilating and air conditioning renovation work in several rooms in an existing animal research barn. Work includes removal and patching of existing through-wall room air conditioners and wall mounted electric heaters, installation of a new 2-ton split DX HVAC unit and ductwork to serve an office and video room, replacement of two toilet room and workshop heaters and installation of a 5-ton outside air make-up unit for a lab room. It is anticipated that there will be no asbestos work in this project. Associated work includes gas piping, electric service, concrete pads, cutting and patching, temperature controls and testing and balancing. The facility will be in operation during construction. The period of performance is 120 days. All work shall be performed in strict accordance with the Specifications and Drawings. Estimated price range is: Between $25,000 and $100,000. This acquisition will be procured as a full and open competition under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The NAICS code is 238220 and the annual size standard is 12.0 million. This is an Invitation for Bid (IFB). The solicitation packages may be requested, free of charge, by mail, fax, or e-mail to ggerdes@shive-hattery.com or Shive- Hattery, Inc., P.O. All requests for a solicitation package must reference IFB No. 5114-4-1300 and the contact name above. No telephone requests for the solicitation package will be accepted. All responsible and qualified sources may submit a bid that will be considered by the agency. A pre-bid site visit will be scheduled and information provided in the solicitation package. This will be the only opportunity to visit the job site prior to submission of bid. The anticipated IFB solicitation package will be available on or about July 19, 2004.
