Description
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to negotiate a one-time, sole source, firm-fixed price contract with Sony Electronics, Inc., 9901 Business Parkway, Lanham, MD for the purchase of Sony BKPF-L series boards/modules. The Government intends to negotiate with Sony Electronics under the authority of FAR 6.302. FOB Destination is the FBI Academy, Quantico, VA 22135. Based on Market Research via the internet, it has been determined that the Sony BKPF-L series modules will operate with the following Government-owned equipment: Sony PFV Frames, Sony BVM Series Monitors, and Sony DVS 9000 Switchers. All Incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through FAR Circular 2001-24. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 334310. The FBI has a requirement for one-time, firm-fixed price purchase of the following Sony circuit boards/modules: 1) Sony BKPF-L601C Analog Component to Digital Converter, quantity of 11; 2) Sony BKPF-L602C Digital to Analog Component Converters, quantity of 7; 3) Sony BKPF-L612 2-Channel SDI Distribution Board, quantity of 6; 4) Sony BZS-9420 DVS-9000 Color Corrector Unlock Key, quantity of 1; and 5) Sony PFV-L10PAC Frame with Redundant Power Supply, quantity of 1. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however, interested persons may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The evaluation of proposals and the determination as to equality of the product shall be the responsibility of the Government and will be based on information furnished by the vendor. The purchasing activity is not responsible for locating or securing any information which is not identified in the quotation and reasonably available to the purchasing activity. The Government reserves the right to request product samples which can be tested for compatability. The Government will not pay for any information received. Offerors are hereby notified that due to Security Issues, only faxed offers will be considered. All proposals received by 2:00 PM, EDT, Monday, September 13, 2004 will be considered by the Government. Quotes can be faxed to (703) 632-1844.
