Description
Q - Contractor to provide cardiac arrhythmia event detection services to patients of the Minneapolis VA Medical Center, One Veterans Drive (90C), Minneapolis, MN 55417 and the VA Medical Center, 4801 Veterans Drive, St Cloud, MN 56303. Contractor will provide ambulatory ECG monitoring of patients with infrequent cardiac symptomatic events including infrequent syncopal episodes, or transient symptoms of palpitations, dizziness, shortness of breath, chest discomfort and weakness. Service shall be provided 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. A contractor staff cardiologist must be available at all times for telephone consultation. Contractor will provide all event recorders required. Event recorders must be small and compact state-of-the-art equipment and have an extended looping ECG memory of a minimum of five minutes (300 seconds) and a frequency response of .05 to 30 Hz. The monitoring system must be capable of recording data before, during and after the cardiac symptom is experienced. The monitors must be lightweight, user friendly, and simple for patients to use. It is estimated that approximately 390 patients per year will require ambulatory ECG monitors and monitoring services. Contract period shall be for a Base Year with three 12-month options to renew. Total contract period is not to exceed four years. NAICS code is 621999 Misc. Ambulatory Health Care Services, and small business size standard is $8.5 million per year (averaged over 3 years). This procurement is 100% Set-Aside for Small Business. Federal Acquisition Regulations under FAR 12 and FAR 13 will be followed in this procurement. FSC Code Q for Medical Services applies. Bid documents will be available on or about September 1, 2004. Response to solicitation will be due by 4:30pm Central Time, September 17, 2004.
