Description
The Naval Air Systems Command is planning to award a Firm Fixed Price contract in OCTOBER 2005 to General Electric Aircraft Engines (GEAE) Lynn, Massachusetts for the procurement of T58-GE-16A Gas Path Module kits for the USMC CH-46E propulsion system. Unless otherwise stated herein, no additional written information is available. The Government intends to purchase a total of one hundred twenty-eight (128) total Gas Path Module kits. It is estimated that the delivery of the first sixty-five (65) kits will occur in the first quarter of fiscal year 2007, with an option for an additional sixty-three (63) kits, with final deliveries ending in second quarter of fiscal year 2009. GEAE has retained all proprietary data, tooling, and software rights for their respective components. Industry is notified that the Government does not have access to, nor is planning to obtain, the technical proprietary data, manufacturing tooling, and software rights for any of the components that make up the T58-GE-16 Gas Path Module. Based on the above information, it is the Government's position that General Electric Aircraft Engines is the only know firm that possesses the necessary knowledge, experience, technical data and tooling necessary to perform the required efforts. Access to propulsion system proprietary data and software rights is required for manufacturing of the modules and kits. Provided for interested parties is the address and telephone number for General Electric: a) General Electric Aircraft Engines, 1000 Western Ave, Lynn, MA 01910 USA b) telephone number: 252-464-9079. Once NAVAIR finalizes its requirements and contracting method for the subject effort, a prerequisite for receiving contract award will be registration in the DOD Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. For more information on the CCR, visit http://www.ccr.gov/. There is no commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation, make an award or awards, or to be responsible for any monies expended by any interested parties before award of a contract for the effort mentioned above.
