Description

This synopsis provides notice of the Government?s intent to purchase on a firm fixed-price basis and to solicit a purchase order on a sole source basis with Bea Maurer, Inc., located at 6051 North Lee Hwy, Fairfield, VA 24435-2505, for the items listed below. This action is under the authority of FAR Part 13.5. The items are commercial items. The contract line item numbers and descriptions are: ***CLIN 0001 60303OD BASE-X 303 Tent 18?x15? OD (Quantity 6 EA); CLIN 0002 61BO06300OD Boot, High Black Hummer, 300 Series End Panel, OD. (Quantity 6 EA); CLIN 0003 61BV02OD Blackout Vestibule, Rapid Entry, OD. (Quantity 6 EA); CLIN 0004 69EL001 Light Kit Set of 2 w/TransitCase. (Quantity 6 EA); CLIN 0005 69007 Wind Line Kit (Set of 4). (Quantity 6 EA); CLIN 0006 99999 Custom Job Integrated Padding in the floor. (Quantity 6 EA); and CLIN 0007 69EL Single Strand Light, 25W, 120V, 54? Length (Quantity 6 EA).*** The items will be used to support the Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communication Systems (JWICS) Mobile Integrated Communications System (JMICS) Project. Bea Maurer Corporation is the only known firm that manufactures a shelter system as standard production item that satisfies all the requirements of a JWICS mobile communication system. Bea Maurer is the only known manufacturer and distributor of the BASE-X Expedition brand shelters. Award is expected 16 September 2004. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, the Government will consider all information received by 15 September 2004 1530EST. A determination by the government not to compete this procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The government will not pay for any information received.
