- Description
- The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) has a requirement to purchase Ophthalmology Equipment from Carl Zeiss Meditec, Inc., 5160 Hacienda Drive, Dublin, CA 94568. The following system is needed: 1) Humphrey Atlas Topographer with Refractive Suite, Contact Lens and Pathfinder. Included in this system: Advanced Arc-Step Algorithm, 22-ring Conical Placido, Cone of Focus, Infrared Chin sensor, Auto Pupil measurement and refractive software with Corneal Elevation, Corneal Irregularity, Refractive Map, Masterfit contact Lens module and Keratoconus Detection Map. 2) Humphrey Glaucoma Progression Analysis Software, used with the Humphrey HFAII series to analyze patient progression of visual fields. 3) Visucam Lite with Printer. Zeiss Digital Camera with sensor technology and special Zeiss optical system for flash-free photography of retina. Includes continuous recording in color and red free, angiography and blue and red filters. 4) Humphrey HFAIIi 750 field analyzer. Advanced field analsysi with Statpac, SITA and SWAP. 5) Humphrey Matrix FDT field analyzer. Utilizes FDT for early detection of field loss offering N-30, 24-2 screening tests and 24-2, 30-2, 10-2 and Macula threshold fields. Video eye monitor and enhanced optics for 30 degree FOV, 10.4? LCD color display. 6) Zeiss IT3L table. 7) Humphrey HT2 wheel-chair accessible power tables for use with 995 and 715. The Institute intends to purchase this equipment by other than full and open competition from Carl Zeiss. To the best of the Governments knowledge they are the sole manufacturer and distributor of this equipment. Interested vendors may identify in writing their interest with a capability statement to the Contracting Office prior to the closing date of this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however, all responses received, before the closing date, of this announcement will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. It is anticipated that Request for Quotation (RFQ) NIH-NIDDK-04-333 will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. The anticipated award date is September 30, 2004. Request for copies of the RFQ must be in writing and may be FAXED to 301-480-4226. Quotations must be submitted in writing to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases 6707 Democracy Blvd., Room 774C, Bethesda, Maryland 20817 Attention: Patricia Haun. FAX quotations must contain offerors names, address, telephone number and fax number. FAX quotations will only be accepted if dated and signed by an authorized company representative.
