Description
Request for proposals for the Como/Fisher Response Action. Restortation and water management controls of an open pit mine, removal of wast rock from four old mine sites to a central respository and expansion of an existing waste rock repository. Mine pit work includes contouring and shaping of a 1.8 ha mine site, stripping and amending with lime approximately 21,000 cubic meters coversoil, 18,000 square meters HDPE/geocomposite synthetic cover, 680 meters subsurface drains, 600 meters surface diversions. Waste rock removal includes removing 23,000 cubic meterswaste rock from four mine sites, 550 meters channel construction, road improvements and regrading. Repository expansion work includes placing 23,000 cubic meters wast rock, 14,000 square meters geomembrane top and bottom liner and placing 19,000 cubic meters cover soil. Revegetation of all sites will entail approximately 12ha revegetative treatment inclusing seed, fertilizer, compost, lime and erosion mats. Included will be a government option to add removal of about 8,000 cubic meters of waste from two mine sites and rehabilitation of the sites. The Como Basin/Glengarry EE/CA can be viewed at www.fs.fed.us/r1/gallatin, New World Project. Estimated price range: $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which will be considered. The solicitation will be posted to this website - FEDBIZOPPS website and will provide all necessary information for bidders to prepare and submit a proposal. A PREPOSAL TOUR WILL BE HELD ON THE 29TH OF SEPTEMBER 2004; STARTING AT 10:00 AM. Meet at the Forest Servcie office, which is located in a tan and brown office trailer at the west edge of Cooke City. When proceeding west from Cooke City on US 212, take the second road to the right past the two police cars. The office is located about 150 feet from the highway. This will be a pre-advertisement showing of the project area. Anticipated award date is late February 2005. Start work is approximately 1 August 2005 with a completion date on or before 15 October 2005.
