Description
This procurement is 100% set-aside for small business concerns. To order solicitation, firms must register on the EBS website. No other registration will be accepted. After your firm has registered, please confirm with an email to Phyllis.L.Buerstatte@usace.army.mil Solicitation expected to be issued on or about 23 Sept 2004. Bid opening will occur no sooner than 30 calendar days after the solicitation is issued. Estimated bid opening date for purposes of this synopsis is 25 October, 2004. Shop fabricate, deliver, and install a single Vertical Barrier Screen (VBS) at the McNary Dam powerhouse intake structure. The VBS is approximately 60 ft tall by 19 ft wide by 1 ft in depth. The VBS has a structural steel frame with stainless steel perfor ated plate panel inserts. Perforated plates panels are approximately 2.5 ft by 4.5 ft in size. Approximately 80 perforated plate panels in the VBS. The top 2/3 of the VBS (40 ft) will be a traveling screen and will be fitted with two traveling belts. Trav eling belts consist of roller drive chains with a plastic mesh screen. Drive assembly consists of electric motors, gear reducers, drive shafts and sprockets. The bottom 1/3 of the VBS (20 ft) will have stainless steel wedge wire bar screen panel inserts i n addition to the perforated plates. Wedge wires are to be looped around all support bars, all non-welded construction, then fitted into a stainless steel frame. The top portion of the VBS will have a pinned connection to the bottom portion to permit eas e of transporting and maneuvering while in the vertical position. Contractor to furnish a crane to unload the VBS, install it into the slot, and to move other screens from slot to slot. Contractor will also modify 3 existing Extended length Submerged Bar Screens (ESBSs) by furnishing and installing new stainless perforated plates on them. Number of plates for each ESBS is approximately the same as for the new VBS. SIC code is 3441, NAICS code is 332313. Small business size standard is no more than 500 employees.
